Operational Wildland Fire Services

Strategic Response Canada provides incident-ready wildland fire operations to support agency-led response across Alberta and Western Canada.

Operational Status

We operate as an independent private contractor without government authority. SRC works alongside Alberta Wildfire and other agency partners under their direction, aligning with established standards, safety expectations, and incident objectives while maintaining our own internal readiness and quality systems.

Our role is to supply qualified wildland crews, equipment, and technical support that integrate cleanly into existing command structures and operational plans.

Our Operational Approach

01. Pre-Season Readiness

Mission-Ready Qualifications

Crews, equipment, and logistics are prepared ahead of season with defined deployment standards, checklists and maintenance schedules. Staff are selected for wildland experience, training, and fitness appropriate to their role, with records maintained to support agency onboarding and verification.

02. Technical Asset Standards

High-Spec Equipment Systems

Vehicles, pumps, tools, and PPE are configured for wildland conditions and routinely inspected. Safety expectations, briefings, and tailboard reviews are built into daily operations.

03. LCES Safety Systems

Operational Risk Management

Safety is managed through strict adherence to LCES principles, clear trigger points, and documented risk assessments that align with agency expectations.

04. ICS Command Integration

Seamless Agency Liaison

SRC resources are organized to work within ICS, follow established communication plans, and respect agency policies, procedures, and command decisions at all times. SRC remains an independent private contractor without enforcement or regulatory authority and supports — but does not replace — the responsibilities of Alberta Wildfire or any other public agency.
